Review notes for Draft A
What this draft is, what is still unknown, and how product data and purchasing will work later.
What this draft is
- A local, private, static prototype of Draft A (navy and orange). Every page is marked noindex and DRAFT — NOT LIVE.
- Forms validate locally and send nothing. No cookies, storage, analytics or third-party embeds.
- Project photography now comes from TCO's own TCO Media drive (professional Ocular Pop shoots, crew progress photos, TCO 3D designs), shared with deacon@botdoctor.io on October 2, 2026. Showroom photos still come from the public site. Photographer usage rights and homeowner permission to confirm. No generated images are used.
- Brand applied from BRAND GUIDELINES FINAL_February 2026 (Sovic Creative): Dark Blue #1a2731, Teal #235a6f, Orange #f27324, Grey #eaf0f1, Montserrat (self-hosted, SIL OFL), official logo PNGs and brand pattern, used unchanged. Gendra (secondary font) not used until TCO confirms a web license. The guide's palette paragraph mentions green, yellow and cream; the swatches above it were used.
- Squarespace stays live until Dustin has seen and tested a replacement.
Product purchase states
The product template reads one local fixture, assets/js/catalog-fixture.js. Names come from public store URLs. No prices, stock or eligibility are known.
- unknown (default)
- Ask About This Product + showroom actions. States that online availability has not been decided. Used for every fixture product.
- showroom_only
- Explains that higher-ticket items are purchased through the showroom, not online, with inquiry + showroom actions. Shown on one product as a labeled review example only.
- approved_online (future)
- Not built into any product page. When Dustin approves an item, the approved catalog supplies its live price and an online-eligible flag; only then would the page show price, stock and an add-to-cart action. Until then no product is purchasable.
Later Shopify connection: render collections and product pages from Shopify (native theme or Storefront API). Price and stock come from Shopify. Online eligibility comes from a field the price owner controls (for example a product metafield or tag), never from page copy. A shared approved price list can feed Shopify later. Dustin has not defined which categories are online-eligible; do not assume all built-in grills are excluded or all accessories eligible.
Facts pending confirmation
- Saturday hours: public site shows both "By Appointment Only" and "10 AM to 4 PM".
- Public email: hello@ (website) versus lifestyle@ (Shopify footer). Neither is shown on public pages in this draft.
- Showroom size: 10,000+ sq ft (current site, BBB) versus 8,100 sq ft (2018 press).
- Founding year and how to name Panther City Arbor & Patio / TCO Design Build.
- Family wording; headshot-to-name matches; owners' photo.
- Project locations, scope and homeowner permission for every gallery photo.
- Category names, brand list (furniture brands being reduced), product titles and specs.
- Financing partner mention (LYON Financial appears on the current site; not used here).
- Licensing, insurance and warranty language; customer portal (JobTread).
- Service area: the current FAQ says "greater DFW Metroplex"; not used as a promise here.
- Review quotes: not used until each reviewer's permission and source are confirmed.
Future work (not promised on the site)
- Bundles and published prices after Dustin supplies bundle details, prices and installation rules.
- Project estimator after bundles and rules exist.
- Ads after the website and SEO, with a separately agreed budget. No price competition with big-box retailers.
- Company agents and operational systems.
Ideas from the TCO Media drive (not built yet)
- Project pages by city for local search: 270+ project folders across 40+ communities (Fort Worth ~110, Aledo, Arlington, Burleson ~20 each). One page per city with its real projects.
- Before / design / build / finished stories for more projects: the archive keeps these stages per project. Eagle Mountain Lake is the first.
- Short project videos: Ocular Pop highlight videos exist for most professional shoots; a muted loop could lead the Projects page.
- Products named after the brand line: Grilling · Living · Seating could become the three product departments.
- Build options picker from "Projects - By Category": gabled, hipped, freestanding and flat patio covers; drop shades, fans, heaters, fireplaces.
- Showroom furniture collections (Biltmore, Cabo San Lucas, Coral Gables, Charleston, Elements, Mobar) and the floor-model sale, once furniture brands are narrowed.
- Resources: Site Survey Explained, Site Plan Example and the Patio Maintenance Guide PDFs as downloadable guides.
- Recognition: Best of Fort Worth (2019–2023), Houzz 2019, DFW Favorites 2025 and TREX Pro badges, after Dustin confirms each one.
